Friday Afternoon in Addis

Dear friends and family,

It is 4:30 Friday afternoon in Addis Ababa.  We have had an amazing
first week of work here with the project.  We have visited many
beneficiaries in their homes and have been overwhelmed by the
hospitality and generosity that has been shown to us.

We have had three days of clinics in which we have cared for hundreds
of patients – both beneficiaries and neighbors of the project.

This afternoon one of the project support groups presented the team
with a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony.

Jamison and I have had the opportunity to lead numerous small group
sessions with beneficiaries where we have shared life stories,
answered questions, studied Scripture and prayed for one another.
These have been tremendously encouraging times to see God’s mighty
power at work in individual lives through the work of the project.

There are several more updates being written by different team members
that we will try and post on Monday.  We have VERY limited internet
access and the connection has been very sporadic.  We leave EARLY
(4:30 AM local time) tomorrow for an overnight trip to Lalibela.
There will be many more stories to tell when we return.

We give thanks and praise to God that after a few bouts of sickness
everyone is feeling very well now.  Pray that we would continue in
good health and have the strength to do the work to which we have been
called.

God is at work here in amazing ways.  We look forward to sharing with
you in more detail soon.

For the team,

-Paul
