Posted February 22, 2010 by Phyllis | One ResponseWhenever we are in Ethiopia, all of the calendars in the project office are marked, “the Baltimore Team” or the “Abbott Team”. Even though our teams are made up of folks from all across the United States, it is Abbott Church that has placed its own unique mark on the work of the project here. It is always exciting for me, as the pastor and team leader, to see who the Lord will call from our church to join in the work that is happening here….

ENT physicians and pediatricians are accessible to treat children with chronic ear infections. For infants and children who have permanent hearing loss, amplification (i.e. hearing aids) is used to provide them with the capability to hear sounds in their environment. With the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening program, infants who have hearing loss are able to be fit with hearing aids before the age of six months.

We have already had two very productive days of ministry and today is going very well. Yesterday and today we have been divided into several different areas of ministry and have been in several different locations for work.

Posted February 14, 2010 by Julius Fischer | Discuss this entryAfter a day of recovering from travel, our team started the day today by attending worship at St. Matthew’s Episcopal church. While the service was conducted in English, those in attendance clearly hailed from all over the world. I rejoiced to hear how clearly the priest delivered the gospel as he preached on the Transfiguration. Whaddya know? The gospel message is the same here as it is in the US. The context, however, is drastically different.

2010 Ethiopia Mission Trip

The trip went well with only some minor issues with customs. Praise God. (Addis time is 8 hours ahead of EST.)
